New AC/DC Album To Be A Wal Mart Exclusive

The Wall Street Journal reports Wal Mart to be the exclusive retailer of AC/DC's lastest album in the US. The new album, title unknown as of yet, is expected to be released in late fall.

AC/DC is one of only a few classic rock bands to deny resale rights to Apple Itunes, and for that matter to any online retailer.

The new album was produced by Brendan O'Brien, and is AC/DC's first album since "Stiff Upper Lip", and will be released under the Columbia label. Fans can expect a world tour to follow the release.

Jimmy Page Confirms More Shows For Led Zeppelin

Jimmy Page spoke to The Telegraph after performing with the Foo Fighters in London, last Saturday night. He said Led Zeppelin has plans for more shows, but a full world tour was out of the question due to, lead singer, Robert Plant's prior commitments. These show will not take place until the second half of 2009.

Robert Plant is currently touring the US with singer Alison Krauss in support of their recently released, duet album.

Myrtle Beach, SC. - A new theme park has opened it's gates, based on Hard Rock Cafe's, the new Hard Rock Park, opened to performances by The Eagles, and The Moody Blues.

The park located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, features roller coasters and other thrill rides set to the tunes of classic rock bands like, Led Zeppelin, and The Eagles.

Hard Rock Park, features different areas to appeal to the likes of fans. "Brittish Invasion", "Born In The USA", and "Rock And Roll Heaven", are the various themes inside Hard Rock Park.

Inside Hard Rock Park, you can find a 70 foot Les Paul Guitar, a reproduction of the Statue of Liberty holding a Zippo lighter, and sporting sunglasses, and emblazoned on her pedestal the words "Keep On Rockin' In The Free World". Also, an amazing memorial to 350 rock musicians who are no longer with us.

Van Halen Tour Pays Off

The tour that most thought wouldn't make it to the end surprisingly, did, and has paid off. Van Halen, reportedly, has made a whopping $93 million dollars on this last tour. This despite, the firing of bassist Michael Anthony, and Eddie's mysterious illness which caused many shows to be postponed.

The tour ended in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on June 3.

Although, no further plans for Van Halen have been released as of yet, singer David Lee Roth has been reported saying, "exciting developments", have been planned.

The Sex Pistols To Release Live DVD

80's punk band, The Sex Pistols, will release a new live DVD titled, "There'll Always Be An England."

The DVD will contain live footage shot from a series of shows at London's Brixton Academy in 2007. And Will Contain over 98mins of extras.

"There'll Always Be An England", is due in stores beginning June, 30.

The Sex Pistols, also start a world tour beginning June 14.

Matt Sorum's Newfound Love For Axl Rose

In an interview from Aritisan News, published May 26, 2008, Velvet Revolver drummer, and former Guns N' Roses member, Matt Sorum talks about his newfound love for frontman Axl Rose.

Sorum, was asked to compare, former Velvet Revolver frontman, Scott Weiland, with Axl Rose.

"Yeah (laughs). No, no... Both... I actually have a newfound liking and love for Axl Rose (laughs). You can print that (laughs). I've said a couple of bad things about Axl, and I think they've come back to bite me in the ass. The one thing I know about Axl Rose, as much as a d--k as he was at times, the stadium was usually sold out (laughs)! A little difference between those two guys. I'm talking 50,000 not 5,000 (laughs). I could deal with that. A jet, I'm not talking just a Jet, a 727, my own limo and a guy to carry my s--t (laughs)."

Could this be a small crack forming in the ice that's kept the original Guns N' Roses from reuniting? I doubt it, but seems like at least one attitude is ever so slightly changing. Stay tuned to this ongoing soap opera.

Sammy Hagar Teams With Joe Satriani

Sammy Hagar told the Canadian Press in a recent interview, that he has teamed up with acclaimed guitarist Joe Satriani, drummer, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Michael Anthony, to form a super group dubbed as "Chickenfoot".

Sammy said, the group has already written 8 songs, and plan to be in studio before Labor Day 2008.

"When people hear the music, it's Led Zeppelin. It's as good as that. I know that's a mighty bold statement... We could rival Zep."

When asked about Van Halen, Sammy said this, "I'm really not interested in being in that band right now. I'm so much more interested in our little Chickenfoot project".

"To me that's 10 times Van Halen, because it's functional, we all like each other."

Sammy and The Wabos are currently on tour with country music star, Kenny Chesney.

Kansas To Release Double Album In July

Reports say, AC/DC apparently has finished their newest album, as Brian Johnson has left the studio in Vancouver, BC. Leaving behind Malcom and Angus Young with producers, Mike Fraser and Brendan O'Brien, to finish the work on the CD.

Brian also stated, that the band will next work on getting the artwork done and take care of the promotional activities in connection with the release, to be followed by a tour.

Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kid Rock , On Tour Together

This combination doesn't surprise me, in fact, I am surprised they've waited this long to do this tour. Lynyrd Skynyrd announced a tour with Kid Rock, beginning in August, of this year. The tour, dubbed, "Rock And Rebels", kicks off on August 8, in Oklahoma City.

Pearl Jam And Flaming Lips Pay Tribute To The Who

VH1 has announced yesterday, that Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, and The Flaming Lips, will be pay tribute to rock legends, The Who, on the 3rd annual "VH1 Rock Honors". The show will be airing Thursday, July 17, at 9PM.

There show will also include, a performance by The Who.

"VH1 Rock Honors" is taped live in L.A.'s Pauly Pavilion, located on the campus of UCLA.

Tickets for the show go on sale June 8, 2008. With proceeds going to multiple charities.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Take A Break

Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis, told Rolling Stone Magazine that the band, has "disbanded for the moment". After a grueling 12 month tour, this will be the first break for the Red Hot Chili Peppers since recording 1999's Californication. Kiedis said, the break is to give time to "just live and breathe and eat and learn new things."

The rumors of a $500 million world tour. Are just that, another rumor.

It was all started when Whitesnake's David Coverdale, reportedly told, The Daily Mirror (UK) that he was expecting a call from Jimmy Page and would be accepting an invitation, to support Led Zeppelin on a world tour.

Coverdale, denied ever making any such statement, and claimed there is bad blood between himself, and Robert Plant. Which Coverdale says is proof that the report, is untrue.

Whitesnake is busy with their own "Good To Be Bad" tour, and have no intentions of supporting any other band at this time.

Many false rumors of a Led Zeppelin tour, have surfaced since, Zeppelin performed at London's O2 Arena.

Original Rush Drummer Dies At Age 55

Founding member and and drummer of Rush, died of a heart attack this last weekend while sleeping. John Rutsey left Rush in 1974, because of complication with diabetes. He was then replaced with drummer, Neil Peart.

Rutsey, joined Rush in 1968, with Geddy Lee, and Alex Lifeson. He performed on the bands self titled debut album "Rush".

After leaving the band, and the music business all together, Rutsey became involved in amateur body building.

Billed as the "loudest show on earth". Motley Crue once again will be touring the US, with a 2 stage festival. Crue Fest includes, Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Trapt, Sixx: AM. The Crue have hopes this will be an annual festival, something like Ozzfest, only with bands, that are somewhat known, and have lived, "the Rock N' Roll lifestyle". Van Halen Officially Finishes Tour

Van Halen for the first time in forever has finished a tour with no breakups, or no mishaps. Unless you count Eddie's time off due to "illness". Maybe these guys have figured out it's not about just them? I still think it's not VH without Mike, though?

As you probably noticed already, I am a huge fan of Airbourne! Just keeping up on their news is nearly impossible, as are they exploding on to the scene, and becoming more, and more popular.

This is the bands latest video release, Runnin' Wild, this video features a police chase through L.A. in a semi truck, with Lemmy, from Motorhead playing the role of the truck driver, and Airbourne playing Runnin' Wild in the back of the trailer. Lemmy, must be a fan also. I know that Airbourne, has mentioned Motorhead as one of their biggest influences.
